The primary objective is to provide an overview of the world of freelancers, highlighting the pros and cons of this mode of employment. Behind what has become the standard label for self-employed professionals lies a wide range of different work scenarios. Along with those who work continuously and solely on their own are others who alternate between a salaried position and a freelance activity, while still others work on a project basis for one or more clients, and then there are those who use a freelance activity to supplement their income from salaried employment. There are professionals who work freelance as a conscious choice that allows them to follow their passions, while others are forced to embrace this form of employment.
What does being a freelancer mean to you?
If you wish to help us get a clearer, more complete picture of the world of freelancers, in order to be able to guide and influence the policies of the EU as effectively as possible, please fill out the on-line questionnaire. It takes approximately 15 minutes to do so, and the responses will be handled in a totally anonymous manner.
The first results of the survey will be published on this website within 6 months’ time, in addition to being made known through a series of public encounters.
The survey is being carried out in a number of different European countries, under the coordination of Acta, the Italian freelance association.
Who are the subjects of the survey?
The questionnaire is aimed, first and foremost, at all professionals who work on a self-employed, independent basis, as well as those who engage in freelance work but alternate it with salaried employment, plus those who seek out and chose their clients independently but still work under set-term forms of salaried employment (often the case in the entertainment industry, as well as in other sectors).
The survey is meant not only for those who work in traditional professions governed by professional orders and rolls, but also for those active in new professions that lack such established structures.
The questionnaire is NOT for professionals who work exclusively under standard contracts of salaried employment.
